Hey, sweet friends! Although I have had this book for a few years, unfortunately, it got lost in the piles of books that I have collected and never started. As a result, when I came across it, I was pretty excited. Does that sound familiar? The front cover has the description “a story of longing & belonging” which resonated with me today just like it did the day I bought it. Have you already read “A Place to Land?”
To begin with, I don’t know how long it will take me to read it. I may read a chapter a day or if it is good, I may just finish the whole book in one or two sittings. When that happens, you know it is a good book. However, I am trying to slow down and be more intentional in absorbing and reflecting on what I am reading. After picking out the book that I wanted to start with, “A Place to Land,” I decided to look up the author, Kate Motaung. To my absolute delight, she turned out to be the lady that hosts, Five Minute Friday. Many years ago, I participated in Five Minute Friday. Also, I am old enough to remember when she took over hosting that writing community. If you have any interest in being a Christian writer, you should check it out!
As I flipped through the beginning of my book, I realized I have an autographed copy! And what an emotional lift that was. Not only did she autograph the book, below her signature, she jotted down Colossians 3:2. I love this verse, “Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.” Remember, sweet friends, this world is NOT our home.
